Red pocket envelopes shoot:
In this week, I have started to do test shoot for my first photoshoot which is inspired by the Chinese red pocket envelopes. I have incorporated the red veil fabric to make the photo looks more fascinating. I think the texture of the fabric has given more definition to the image. There are improvements that need to make on this test shoot as on some of the photos, the red pocket envelopes on the dress were not stuck on the dress properly and it doesn't look like it is part of the dress. However, I like the idea of this shoot, especially on the ones where the model was eating the chocolate coin. On the first photo, I have come up with an idea of editing that I could paste the image within the red pocket shape to create the illusion of a pocket inside a pocket.
"You, me or her?" test shoot
I have also tried out the theme and the lighting for the "You, me or her?" photo shoot. I think on the first photo, the way I place the mask on the head looks very interesting for me and I think in the future I could develop something with the pose as well such as adding more masks on the head. The lighting and the masks work well together and it helps me to create a mystery atmosphere, like the way the feelings that Chinese Face Mask Changing gives to the audience ( mystery and fascinating).
Website Design Research:
On below, I have researched and looked at different websites and online exhibition 's layout to find inspirations for my website.
Website 1: Ordinary Magazine: http://ordinary-magazine.com/
Ordinary Magazine Website features strong bold colors and I like the way the layout is very clean and simple but you won't think the page is boring. I also like the way they got a bottom on the top left corner where visitors could close the menu or open the menu when they want to go to another page. The typography used on the page remains simple and allows the visitors to read clearly and I think it looks professional.
Website 2: POSTERMATTER.COM
On Postermatter.com, I have found a layout which I would like to use on my website. The pictures are layout in different sizes and positions on the page and I like how it gives more dimensions to the page.
Website 3: www.moma.org - online exhibition
On moma.org, it has presented some online exhibition work. When pressed on the artwork, the artwork will open as wide screen for the visitors to look at the details on the work. But compare to Postmatter.com, I think the layout of moma.org looks quite boring when they are layout in a collum.
Website 4: http://www.tonyshafrazigallery.com/index.php?mode=home
On www.tonyshafrazigallery.com, I like the way how the menu is presented in a clear format for the visitors to choose what they want to look at in the exhibition. On the artwork page, the artwork is presented in a widescreen that allows visitors to look into the details of the artwork. I think the white background looks professional and helps to stand out the art piece at the front.
