The idea of my final project is to create an online exhibition website named 'RED' and the aim is to allow audiences around the world to explore traditional Chinese cultures but in a contemporary and innovative way. With the idea of combining surrealism with Chinese traditional cultures, it inspires me to create something different and develop my ideas further. The reason I come up with this idea is that as I was grown up in Macau, a country which belongs to China, I was taught by learning Chinese cultures since I was small. I want to take advantage of this opportunity to understand more about the culture I was living in and also reflects on the contemporary society that I am living in now. As a designer, I want to explore and experience something new and interesting, therefore the idea of producing surrealist artworks offers me opportunities to challenge myself and develop different opportunities. The outcome of the project will allow me to produce innovative visual designs and expand my creativity.

On the RED Exhibition Website, it will include a 2-minute fashion film, 3 photo shoots, some illustrations, behind the scenes photos and descriptions about the project. By providing 3 languages for the audiences to visit the exhibition website, it allows more people to understand what my exhibition want to convey to them. At the beginning stage, I will start doing research on surrealism artwork, film, fashion etc and also look at Chinese traditional cultures in different aspects such as films, artworks, historical cultures, fashion, etc. Throughout this blog, I will be documenting the research and development process of this project. I will be taken the role of website builder, creative director, post production editor, make-up and hair artists and fashion stylist on this project while there will be collaborations with other students and I will need one photographer and one filmmaker to work together.
